Drawstring Trouser Workshop

You will spend this single session class making up the very popular 101 Trouser designed by Merchant and Mills. These gentle drawstring trousers with side pockets and a false fly, are cut to sit on the waist. The pattern features four versions - cropped & tapered trouser, wide straight trouser or shorts, which gives you plenty of options to make these unique to your own style. These trousers would also make very good pyjama bottoms if made in the right fabric!

Level: This class is suitable for sewers at who already confident with using a sewing machine.y

Fabric Requirements

Tapered Trouser

Fabric 140cm Wide: Sizes 8-12 = 1.9m / Sizes 14-18 = 2.1m

Fabric 120cm Wide: Sizes 8-10 = 1.9m / Size 12 = 2.1m / Sizes 16-18 = 2.5m

Full Trouser

Fabric 140cm Wide: Sizes 8-10 = 2m / Sizes 12-18 = 2.2m

Fabric 120cm Wide: Sizes 8-10 = 2.1m / Size 12 = 2.3m / Sizes 14-18 = 2.5m


Fabric 140cm Wide: Sizes 8-12 = 1.2m / Sizes 14-18 = 1.25m

Fabric 120cm Wide: Sizes 8-18 = 1.4m

Suitable fabrics: linen, soft cottons, fine wool, wool crepe, washed silk or rayon. Choose fabrics that drape and won't bulk around the drawstring waist.
